He was born in 1962 in Belgium, and he has a degree in architecture from St. Luc in 1986, Brussels. He won the Architecture prize "Van Hove" in Brussels for the TGV station project and then worked two years in Florence. At 26, he won the Architecture prize of the European Chamber of the Brussels Parliament where he also designed the furniture. This project also opened the world of design: VALLI VALLI asked him to produce the handles, TECNO and TECHNOLUX lamps, and the furnishing of the hemicycle. In 2000, he opened a product-design studio in Italy.
In 2001, he represented Belgium at the University of Montreal conference on international design. In 2005, Nell won "DESIGN PLUS" in Frankfurt with his tank "STRIP" designed for AQUAMASS. Then in 2007, he won the "GOOD DESIGN" Chicago Cutlery with "UNIQUE" designed for Auerhahn. Now he lives in Lucca in Tuscany, where he has worked for the most prestigious companies such as ARTEMIDE, AQUAMASS, AUERHAHN, MARTINELLI LUCE, SERRALUNGA, TECNO, TECNOLUX, VALLI ARREDOBAGNO, and VCR.
