Collection: Luis Alberto Arrivillaga
Born in Guatemala in 1980, Luis Alberto Arrivillaga studied Mechanical Engineering at Rafael Landivar University and graduated in 2005. Immediately afterwards, he moved to Milan, Italy, seeking new goals and achievements. He attended a Master in Product and Interior Design where he had the opportunity to collaborate with some prestigious brands such as Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, Alias, and Serralunga. Between 2006 and 2008, he enrolled in various useful workshops like Hi-tech/Low-tech for Microsoft, led by Matali Crasset, and Nutella, led by Odoardo Fioravanti. At the end of his Master year, he participated in the exhibition called BestUp with the project "Caos Calmo" during the Milan Furniture Fair 2008. In 2009, he started working at Flowserve and Lai Studio. He had the opportunity to conduct research and development in different concepts, from Furniture and Object Design to Interiors and Architecture.
In 2010, he joined Atelier Biagetti, developing various interior and industrial design projects for the studio. In the same year, he won a position in the Workshop Universal Design For Seoul city in Korea, led by Julia Cassim; an experience that gave him the chance to be in direct contact with a different approach to design issues. At the beginning of 2011, he moved to London where he joined Nikid, Design Studio. In April 2011, he won 1st prize with the "PUTIA" table for the Touchable Emotions contest by MDFItalia&Cristalplant. Now he lives in Milan and has started collaborating with different manufacturing companies including MDF Italia, Made a mano, and others.
