Collection: François Bauchet
François Bauchet, designer born in 1948 in Montluçon (France). He trained at the School of Fine Arts in Bourges. Since 1982, he has been teaching at the School of Fine Arts in Saint-Etienne. In 1983, his first project, developed with the help of VIA and named "C’est aussi une chaise", was presented at the Salon des artistes décorateurs (SAD). From 1984 to 1998, he collaborated with Galerie Neotu. In 1987, he designed the offices of the Fondation Cartier at Jouy-en-Josas near Paris and took part in Documenta 8 in Kassel. Other projects followed: shop windows and reception furniture for the Art Centre at Vassivière-en-Limousin, the reception area of the Museum of Art & Industry in Saint-Etienne, the exhibition fit-out and café furniture for the Jeu de Paume in Paris, furniture, footbridge and folly for the grounds of the château d’Azay-le-Rideau… In 2000, the musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris held a solo exhibition of his work. In 2001 and again in 2003, Galerie Kreo also gave him solo exhibitions. In 2002, he won the ‘Creator of the Year’ award at the Paris furniture fair. His pieces and objects are currently in production with Galerie Kreo, Cinna, Ligne Roset, Ercuis, Haviland, GHM…
He also has pieces in various permanent collections: the FNAC and the musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, and the Design Museum in Lisbon…
